Changing a career is a big decision.
While it can be quite stressful, working in an environment that does not make you grow,or does not meet your values can be even more effortful and cost loads of your energy.
The thought about changing my career was persisting in my head until I was actually determined to do it.
I have to admit it, it was scary as hell.
Mariana Bockarova in the online article “Thinking About Switching Careers? Read This First” writes that according to Jeevan Balani, former Associate Partner at McKinsey, VP at a Tech Startup, and the current…
We all crave for love.
Love makes us feel more alive, it makes our hearts race, makes us feel different.
May it be just a feeling of desire, lust, or a long-lasting relationship.
But why do we look for love?
Is it our soulmates that we are looking for?
Alvin Powell in the online article “When Love and Science double date” explores the concept of love.
He writes that love is often described as an illness, though generally it is not a disease:
Many females experience breast related issues, that are not very commonly and casually talked about.
Especially young girls are prone to embarrassment related to breasts.
As adults, we should be able to talk about topics that are uncomfortable.
Here is why we should educate young girls and ourselves.
According to Omrani A. et al. (2020) study breast issues include:
1. Breast cancer
2. Incorrect bra fit
3. Breast pain
4. Breast sag
It is important to educate ourselves, and most importantly, young girls:
“…these breast concerns are more prevalent in adolescent girls compared to adult females, with 87%…
“Living in different cultures helped me work out who I was going to be, separate from where I came from.” Jacinda Barrett
I can resonate with this so much.
Living in different cultures can be a life-changing experience.
Being with someone from different culture can be extraordinary.
Like so many people, before I was afraid of change.
Leaving the small town where I was born and travelling to another country was challenging.
When I arrived in the United Kingdom more than five years ago, I felt confused.
British people spoke slang that I did not understand. My university course was…
I used to believe that soulmates exist. Blindly. I am not even too sure where this belief came from. Then life happened, it changed. I believe in soulmates now, but differently than I used to. I can say that soulmates exist because I have found one.
Monmouth University Polling found that two-thirds of Americans believe in soulmates.
Only 17 percent of people asked do not believe it at all.
When I first heard about yoga and decided to try it years ago, I knew so little about it.
I showed up in my gym’s yoga class with my sportswear and got what I came for — physical exercise.
Only when I signed up for yoga pranayama class, and decided to actually show up for it, I learned that yoga is much more than exercise.
Let’s debunk five most common myths in yoga!
You can adjust your yoga practice to your own needs. Each pose has different variations.
Sometimes, even advanced practitioners have to do beginner variations, for example…
Loss of a pet can be very hard to overcome. Human to human connection is rarely compared to human to animal connection, and it shouldn’t be.
It is totally different.
My cat named Cat had passed away last night. My parents wrapped him in his favourite blanket, and wished him peace.
This poem is for all animals and people who love them.
Can I follow you to
I will take your favourite
Some treats to make you
Can I follow you to
Can I sit right next
And stroke your
It is so natural not to feel entirely connected to ourselves at times, let alone to someone close to us.
Stress, busy schedules, hundreds of things to take care of…
Sometimes we do not notice how the other person feels due to our own busy minds and worries.
Thus, it is important to take a break.
Otherwise we might miss some really important information about those we love and some beautiful moments with them.
Me and my partner started to do this on a regular basis.
He is at work all day, and barely gets any breaks.
That means that…
You are not alone.
When we see people who struggle in life, homeless, those alone and lost, do we take some time to think what they could possibly go through?
What has led them there?
We all go through different stages in life, unfortunate events that either makes us stronger, or breaks us.
For some of us the challenges in life has been so hard that it is nearly impossible to pick ourselves up, or we just do not know how to do it.
Here is a poem about that.
In the city, not that far
I have lived, I…
I joined Medium in January 2021, I believe. I have been writing on and off.
There are certain things that I LOVE about Medium and a few things that I TOTALLY do not understand.
Let’s be brutally honest and dive deep into it.
